PAST EVENTS
Since its establishment, MANNAM SA has been involved in numerous projects that have aimed at promoting unity through volunteering.
These projects have involved people from all walks of life, who willingly give up their time and of themselves, together with others with the same heart, focus and objective.

DARG (Domestic Animal and Rescue Group) has become a place where we have had loads of fun. From walking the dogs, to painting kennels, to cleaning and organising rooms or simply just preparing light lunch for the team; we just love it!
We have stretched out a helping hand to the team at DARG to help in any way that we can, and we are really glad that we did.

The Farm is situated in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town. Its owner recently
made known his plea to help clean up his farm. MANNAM read about this and started helping out. MANNAM and the owner have become friends over the course of our regular interactions, and we are always so excited to visit the farm for a tough session of [fun] clean up. From cutting down alien trees, to vegetable gardening, to playing with farm animals, to making bon-fires, this is a project for everyone.

Al Noor orphanage: Our team of dedicated MANNAM volunteers spent a wonderful day baking, making beaded bracelets, playing soccer, cleaning the beautiful goldfish’s tank, and generally just having fun with 17 delightful young people aged between 7 and 17 at the Al Noor Orphanage. All these young people have been affected in one way or another by the HI Virus or AIDS and are now given a home and all the necessary care by the staff at Al Noor. Being part of this team and knowing that the time spent with these young people creates a high–LIGHT for them and simultaneously for us, as volunteers, as well gives true meaning and value to our MANNAM slogan: “When light meets light there is victory.” Watch this space and join us when we next go into the Cape Town community to make a difference.
Our PEACE TREE PROJECT was an initiative that was started by our fellow MANNAMers in Korea. On this day, July 18 2011, MANNAM set out to commemorate a true legend and volunteer, Mr Nelson Mandela, This project set out to promote love, hope and peace, which are values that are so evident in what Mr Mandela had done. In order to achieve this objective, we encouraged anyone and everyone to write a message of hope, love and peace on "leaves" that will make up our PEACE TREE.
This tree once completed was handed to the South African ambassador on behalf of Mr Mandela.
A new tree has since been created in South Africa, and has made its way around to a couple of schools and peoples. Upon its completion, we will be handing it over to the Nelson Mandela Children's Foundation.

We regularly visit the HOMESTEAD, which is a boys' shelter, situated in the heart of Cape Town. We happily involve ourselves simply to spend our time with these boys from disadvantaged backgrounds, ages ranging from 5-20. through a variety of activities. We do not deliver a counselling service, but volunteer to encourage, bring hope and love through who we are as MANNAM. We have seen the tremendous impact such short visits can have in the lives of these boys. Some may think that we are helping them, but they are really helping us put everything into perspective... let us shine together to have victory!!!
